The Solar Powered Revolution

The cost of Solar panel output has fallen in recent months and is going to fall even further. Consequently pushing the cost to create solar electrical energy down to what may be $1 per watt. Vice President of Chinese manufacturer QS Solar quoted in solarplaza.com “In 2010, our target is to achieve a trading price for solar modules of $1 per Watt,” In other words, it will be achievable in 2010 to produce solar energy cheaper than the cost of electricity from the power system (“grid parity”), and this is without subsidies. This revolutionary price level could be enough to produce sustainable growth in the solar energy market even without the provisioning of any government incentives or subsidies. It is the start of the solar future. Some manufactures have even been cited as saying they aspire to bring the cost down even further aiming at $0.75 per Watt.

What makes this realizable is through the use of amorphous silicon thin film modules and increased output capacity. If these goals are achieved then grid parity for solar energy will become available to all nations worldwide as solar energy cost drops below that of established utility cost. Furthermore we should likewise consider that the cost of fossil fuel will continue to go up as resources become more challenging to find and provide affordably. Of course there are also the environmental benefits of using solar energy or Solar Power Light solutions such as Outdoor Solar Lights or Solar Deck Lights.

More Solar Uses

  • Patio Umbrella With Solar Lights

Most home owners rarely think about patio umbrella with solar lights when thinking about illuminating their patio lets explore this romantic lighting furniture - 19 months ago

After its installation, a solar powered system will yield solar electrical energy at a fixed cost for its lifetime which may be twenty years or more. Generation, performance and maintenance costs are near non existent. In fact the cost of solar electricity will most likely be defined by the depreciation of its equipment and interest rate cost (If a loan was obtained for purchase and or installation).

In a few years the fossil fuel powered utility companies will be competing with new entrepreneurs selling solar electrical energy more cheaply than the fossil fueled utility companies. This is going to change the business landscape dramatically and therefore it will not be the solar entrepreneurs contending with the existing utilities but the other way around.
